Life in the cherished slow lane at the Village Library of Cooperstown

Cooperstown Village Library, Cooperstown NYThe Village Library of Cooperstown embodies the true spirit of a community library. From the dedicated and warm staff to the familiar but wonderful old book smell inside the big old hall and small rooms, the Village Library of Cooperstown is a place to unwind, find a great book and ultimately enjoy the special feeling of an old-fashioned library.

Slowing down seems to be a lost art in our society. Sitting in a quiet space within an enriching environment like the Village Library of Cooperstown can do wonders for the soul. They have a terrific selection of books, including a nice children's section. During the summer, book sales grace the pleasant outside landing under the stately pillars. For the more modern minded, the library offers computers, but this never overwhelms the feeling of being in another era at this quintessential, small-town community library.

The Village Library of Cooperstown does have an added benefit -- the Cooperstown Art Association, wonderfully situated at the back of the building. There's always lots of great paintings, frequently in rotation in a casual, helpful, friendly, spacious room. The novice art aficionados can peacefully co-exist with the cultured experts; there is no "snobbery" here. It is a great addition to the Cooperstown Village Library.

Some might not think of visiting a library as part of one's vacation, but one step into the Village Library of Cooperstown will make you feel good all over. We recommend "booking" part of your vacation time at this very special place.
